Vidya Sundaram is cofounder and chief executive officer of Family Engagement Lab, a national nonprofit whose mission is to ignite the power of families to support learning. Family Engagement Lab’s work to improve learning outcomes has been recognized by the Saul Zaentz Early Education Initiative at Harvard Graduate School of Education, J-PAL North America, Guggenheim Network for Social Innovation, and Greater Good Science Center at UC Berkeley. Vidya led research and insights for GreatSchools until 2016, where she led evaluations for services used by over half of US families. Vidya began her career as a software engineer and project manager, helping develop the first print-at-home postage software and airline ticketing systems. She holds a degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University, a masters in public policy from UCLA and her MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management. Vidya is committed to preserving her Tamil heritage and culture by performing bharatanatyam in the US and in India. Vidya is a mom to two kids and proud to be part of a lively multigenerational household.
