Budget Manager II | San Francisco Unified School District
Job Title: Budget Manager II
Location: San Francisco, CA | Onsite
Organization: San Francisco Unified School District
Description:
San Francisco Unified School District is looking for a Budget Manager II to help schools and central departments make smart, informed decisions about their resources. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working with numbers, solving problems, and partnering with people across a large organization.
On a typical day, you might review department or school budgets, analyze spending and projections, investigate variances, and work with budget managers to understand what is driving them. You’ll help prepare budget reports and forecasts, respond to questions from school and central office leaders, and make recommendations about how resources can be used effectively. You may also help develop the annual budget, monitor expenditures throughout the year, review funding allocations, and ensure that spending follows district policies and applicable requirements.
The work requires both attention to detail and the ability to see the bigger picture. You’ll need to explain financial information clearly to people who may not work in finance, manage competing priorities, and work through problems when the numbers—or the path forward—aren’t immediately clear.
This is an opportunity to join a team that sits at the center of some of the district’s most important decisions. Your work will directly support how SFUSD allocates resources to schools, departments, educators, and ultimately students.
If you’re a strong financial analyst who likes being a partner and problem-solver—not just a number cruncher—we’d like to hear from you.
Salary: $132,527 - $180,933
